Hello!

My name is Emily Östensson and I’m a game programming student specializing in gameplay and AI. As a kid, I used to bring my pink Nintendo DS everywhere I went (until the screen fell off from overuse). A couple of years later I got my first computer and I wholeheartedly dedicated every weekend to The Sims 3, amazed that anyone could create something so fantastic.

I first learned about The Game Assembly during my first year of university, when a family friend applied to the school. The following two years I got to try out the games he created which made me realize – I want to do that, too.

I’ve now been at TGA for the past two years and I’ve especially enjoyed working on gameplay. I really enjoy the challenge of figuring out how to implement certain features, and the feeling after getting to see it work in game is indescribable.

In my free time I enjoy listening to music (kent, my beloved), going for walks, and for the past four years I’ve been trying to catch up to the latest season of Grey’s Anatomy (only nine more to go!).

Please note, I am part of The Game Assembly’s internship program. As per the agreement between the Games Industry and The Game Assembly, neither student nor company may be in contact with one another regarding internships before April 23rd. Any internship offers can be made on May 5th, at the earliest.
