My Contributions:
- Player: My primary responsibility this project was to implement all player functionality, consisting of movement and its’ different abilities.
- Additional gameplay: I got to have a hand in creating projectiles, pick-ups, and balloons.
Reflection
The third game project I was a part of creating was a 2.5D platformer, which is when I discovered my love for gameplay. In this project, I mainly worked on player functionality, together with Ricky Truong, as well as some miscellaneous gameplay related features.
Not only did I get to figure out how to implement and improve various features, but I also got to work closely to our level designers, discussing what could be added and what values they wanted to be able to tweak, in order to improve the player movement. As such, my communication skills vastly improved during this project and I learned a lot.
